Skipjack is our solution to the most annoying problem with website audio and video - when you navigate to a new page, even if the media is also embedded in that page your playback resets itself. Web browsing is normally stateless - each page starts from the beginning. Skipjack embeds session functions into a Flash video or audio playhead, so it knows where your visitors are in the playlist.
Our catalog of FMP256 playheads includes Skipjack versions!
Skipjack uses Flash datapackets, and so is compatible with all browsers and platforms supporting a Flash 7 or higher plugin. It does not require any changes to the web page, does not use JavaScript or any cookies, so is transparent to users and firewall/proxy/adware filters. A variable time limit on a session ensures that if a user leaves the site for more than a brief moment, Skipjack resets. Data is stored at the instant a browser closes or navigates away, so the time spent on each page is unimportant.
Skipjack accurately remembers the track/movie and exact playhead position, and returns the playhead to this point whenever a new page loads. It will connect any Draftlight DNeX playhead on a website that uses the same playlist XSPF file, so the structure of your site has no effect on performance. Storage is reused every time a new playlist is chosen, with no more than 500 bytes stored on your visitors' computers.
